Temperature up, revenue down at Atlantic City casinos in July

Atlantic-City-July-RevenueThe air conditioning went out in some Atlantic City casinos midway through July, sending the temperature inside soaring. Turns out that was the only upward momentum felt at Atlantic City casinos in July, as all but two of the city’s gambling joints saw revenues fall. Overall, revenues were down 5% for the month, and are now 7.9% down for the year. For an even broader (and more depressing) perspective, AC casinos grossed $5.2B in 2006, but just $3.9B in 2009.
