UK-Punters-Ditching-Bet-ShopsThe gist of the Financial Times article linked at the end of this paragraph is that change is in the air for UK betting firms, with punters steering more of their wagers away from betting shops and toward online gambling, and when they do bet they’re choosing football over the ponies. But the choice bit comes from a William Hill exec who estimates that there were six or seven football matches during the World Cup in which in-running bets exceeded pre-match wagering.
