There’s been lots of cheering from gamblers ever since the House Financial Services Committee approved the Barney Frank-sponsored online gambling bill. The folks at PokerStars are also cheering, despite an amendment to the bill that would disqualify participation from sites that continued to take American customers post-UIGEA, like, er, PokerStars. However, PokerStars’ lawyers don’t think that specific wording applies in their case. So is PokerStars splitting legal hairs here, or employing some lame attempt at Jedi mind tricks? “These aren’t the poker sites you’re looking for.
