Former Imperial Tobacco chief executive Gareth Davies has resurfaced as the new chairman of bookmaker William Hill. “We are delighted that Gareth has agreed to join the board as chairman of William Hill,” said the company’s chief executive, Ralph Topping, hurriedly throwing his jacket over the pile of 100-pack cigarettes in the back seat of his car.
