One in six women playing online poker

Poker may be on the downslide but it seems that more and more women are playing the noble game online.

When you think about it, it takes a lot of chutzpah to stride into a casino, shrug off the smell of testosterone in the air, put down your handbag, fix the dealer with an icy glare and say, “Deal me in, Miguel”. I certainly got some funny looks when I did it.

Plus when women play at home they tend not to get mistaken for a prostitute – unless their husband’s drunk. So little wonder one in six people taking up the game are of the fairer sex. Read more.
