ASA kicks Paddy Power ad complaints into nearest tree

asa-kicks-paddy-power-ad-complaints-into-treeIt may have seen its last ad canned by the political correctness brigade but despite airing one of the most complained-about adverts of all time, Paddy Power has been cleared by the Advertising Standards Authority. So now, the animal activists will say, kids in playgrounds throughout Britain will be kicking cats into trees because it’s alright to do so.

Not really, the advertising watchdog is right with this one. Personally, I didn’t find the ad particularly funny and I also consider myself an animal lover but you have to give allowances for (attempted) comedy and credit your audience with some intelligence. And credit the bookmaker for making more news headlines for the old controversy = publicity routine. Read more.
