Never slow to cash in on someone else’s chagrin, Paddy Power is paying out more than £10,000 to customers who bet that Tony Hayward would step down as BP’s chief executive by the end of this year, even though the much-maligned oil boss is still running the company. It’s a small price to pay for the Irish bookie, which has hit front page headlines again for this latest PR stunt. Read more.
