One lucky World Cup punter relieved bookmakers William Hill of £275K after backing Spain to go all the way, but the firm is still expected to post positive numbers when it releases updated financial figures on Tuesday. Much of that black ink is credited to UK bettors’ patriotic (albeit deluded) support of their crap home team, but the company’s retail outlets are expected to show a 3% decline on the year.
