EvraFrance’s performance in this summer’s World Cup was in a word merde, so to hear that French Football Federation president Jean-Pierre Escalettes is setting up an enquiry into the furor surrounding the squad is not a surprise. Investigators will look into the decision by the players to boycott a training session, orchestrated by senior players in the squad including Patrice Evra and MLS-bound Thierry Henry. The commission will report back on August 15th, and this comes only a day after new boss Laurent Blanc considering dropping all 23 of the World Cup squad. Quite the coup de grâce Thierry. Read more.
