Gambling-Acceptance-Recession-ProneNot so long ago, when gambling was considered a dirty filthy sin that only dirty filthy people engaged in, it was widely hailed as recession proof. But as casinos in France (and everywhere else except, curiously, in Macau) have recently discovered, the past decade or so of rampant gambling expansion has not only stripped it of much of its ‘sin’ status, it’s also made it more vulnerable to the ups and downs of the global economy, just like any other mainstream business.
