Ladbrokes-Canal-VentureThe joint venture between Ladbrokes and French broadcaster Canal+ finally has captains at the helm. François Deplanck, formerly head of Canal’s youth-oriented TV division, will act as CEO, while Ladbrokes’ Mick D’Ancona gets the COO post. These folks are clearly expecting that the move to cross-promote online betting via Canal’s massive premium subscriber base offers better value to punters than France’s much-maligned ‘liberalized’ poker scheme that has players ‘changing the channel’ in droves.
