Pokerstars puts French players in French box

French poker players looking to play with Pokerstars will no longer be able to do so at Pokerstars.com, but will have to migrate over to Pokerstars.fr. The French-facing site will limit French players to a sort of Gallic ghetto, in which they will only be able to face off against their fellow countrymen, much the same as the situation in neighboring Italy. Is this what future market ‘liberalization’ will mean for all European players? I thought the whole raison d’être of the European Union was the gradual elimination of borders, not the construction of new digital Maginot Lines. Read more.
