New Jersey grants Borgata casino new five-year license

The Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa is described as ‘dominating’ Atlantic City’s casino market, so it’s a sign of how desperate the city’s situation has become that half of the Borgata has been up for sale for some time now with nary a serious bidder in sight. Regardless, New Jersey’s regulatory body has seen fit to grant the Borgata another five-year license to operate, which, depending on your viewpoint, is either a strong vote of confidence or the mandatory ‘sweetening the pot’ portion of every infomercial — “NOW, how much would you pay?” Read more.
