HelpWantedSignThomas Kiessling, CIO of Vienna-based online gambling outfit Bwin, has delivered a sharp technological bitch-slap to his home country, stating that the company has had to outsource development operations to Poland, Romania and Slovenia because “it is impossible to find [skilled IT professionals] in Austria.” With Bwin processing some 70,000 banking transactions per day, a full half of Bwin’s workforce is comprised of IT staff.
