India decides to give online gambling a Goa

goa_beachGiven the sheer size of its population, the social acceptability of gambling and the online understanding of its IT-conscious populace, it’s not surprise the Indian authorities have been looking at milking the holy cash cow that is legalized gambling. And it is the government of Goa that has decided to make the first move, after announcing the creation of a task force to tax – and therefore, one can only assume, legalise and regulate – online gambling websites. Whether licences will be up for tender remains unclear but, if they are, prepare for the scramble for India. Read more.
