Order restored as Idaho cops bust grannies’ poker game

IdahoGrannyNever mind all that ‘greatest generation’ crap – according to Idaho policemen, a degenerate gambler’s a degenerate, regardless of age. For the last five years, about 20 seniors at the Twin Falls Senior Center had staged a regular poker night (with a whopping $20 buy-in), and had routinely donated up to $500/month to their own Senior Center from the proceeds, but the cops have told the gambling grannies to stop all that self-sufficiency stuff and get back to their needlepoint. Doris Williams, 80, says the group has been playing the legal way (without money) since the police raid but “it isn’t as much fun.” Makes you wonder if the “it” in Idaho’s state motto “It is forever” refers to “boredom.” Read more.
