BodogGirlsJPGRiver Rock Casino in Richmond, British Columbia (Canada) staged its first sold-out MMA 10-bout card last Saturday. (Trust me, this is a big deal.) And last month Vancouver city council finally approved the staging of MMA within the city limits. What’s next? UFC? You got it. Word has it UFC is planning a pay-per-view event based out of GM Place on June 12.

Dana White and I may have had our own fights in the past, but this is great news for MMA fans living in BC and I couldn’t be more proud to have paved the way for these promoters coming into the ring. As the first-ever producer of a high-end MMA production (Bodog Fight) in Greater Vancouver, I have nothing but good things to say about this highly competitive, extremely physical sport. I’ve been a long-time fan and huge supporter of MMA and I’m happy to see that the politicians back in Vancouver agree – it’s about damn time.
