Man wins £1,000 after record shed load of weight

A 44-year-old father of two has taken £1,000 off William Hill after winning a bet that he would shed a record amount of weight by Christmas Day.

The former Yorkshire pudding was fed up with pushing maximum density after weighing in at a scales-shattering 17 stone 5lb and so struck the bet with the bookmaker that he would diet his way down to 12st 5lb by December 25.
