Match fixing in football is an issue the European body governing the sport, Uefa, are trying to clamp down on hard.

To that end they have suspended a Belgian referee, who awarded four penalties in an international friendly that saw a significant number of bets placed on at least three goals being scored.

Well done to Uefa, but while you’re in the mood for suspending refs can you ban international friendlies as well, please? Read more.
